Welcome to the Grove Hill Gazette Online
Trick or treating was imported from European immigrants who came to the United States, especially the Irish. When the baby boom of the 1950's occurred, children and popular culture embraced the neighborhood door-to-door tradition we know today.
This newsletter navigates much like a website, with links at the top and bottom of all pages. The Gazette is tied directly to our neighborhood website and can be accessed from the Gazette page. All previous issues can be viewed, as well. If you have a story that you think would be interesting to share with your neighbors please send it to gazette@grovehillhoa.com.
Trick or Treat set for Thursday October 29th
Mayor Bill Ham, Jr. has declared that Trick-or-Treat activities should be held on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 6 - 8 p.m. only. Auburn Police will provide extra patrol in the City for children and their parents or guardians during this time.
Due to high volumes of traffic and the large influx of fans during Auburn University home football weekends, the date change in Halloween activities is necessary in order to provide the maximum number of police patrols for the safety of Auburn's children.
Typically our neighborhood is a Trick or Treat “hotspot”. This means there will be more children and vehicles than normal on our streets Thursday night. Please remember to keep our children safe as they participate in the festivities.
